Queerosphere Party at BlogHer ‘10

Queerosphere BlogHer 10 Party

We’re pleased to host the 2nd annual

Queerosphere at BlogHer ‘10 Party

presented by Queerosphere and BlogHer

Queerosphere at BlogHer ‘10 Thurday, August 05, 2010 from 9:00 PM (ET) Hilton New York 1335 Avenue of the Americas New York 10019

Join us in celebrating the vanguard work of the LGBTQ blogosphere at the Queerosphere welcome party, held in honor of the 100th anniversary of one of the most significant events in lesbian literature and in the history of the arts: Alice B. Toklas moving into the Parisian apartment of Gertrude Stein in 1910.

100 years later, LGBTQ creatives exchange ideas through writing and visual arts online in the digital salon of the blogosphere. We are certain that if Gertrude & Alice were to stumble upon contemporary blogging, Gertrude would be intrigued and proud, and Alice would offer baked goods, stiff drinks and encouragement. They both would think your every link was gorgeous and defiant, your very existence provocative and a call to celebrate.

Queer bloggers and their allies are invited to gather in a special salon at the Hilton to connect and celebrate on the eve of the conference. We hope this will help lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer attendees find family and supporters, making the entire conference a more powerful and enriching experience. Your creative work creates rooms of dialogue across the web everyday, advancing ideas, saving lives, changing the world, making everything more wonderful. In celebration, a little food, champagne cocktails, French coffee, brilliant voices … bienvenue à notre salon, mes amours.

Attendance is limited. Here’s how to RSVP:

Registration for the party: http://queeroshpereatblogher10.eventbrite.com/ Party guests must have some kind of pass for the BlogHer conference in order to RSVP for the party. This can be either a Full Pass or Student Pass (currently Sold Out) or the Party-only Pass (which is available at http://blogher10.eventbrite.com.) When registering, you will be asked to provide your BlogHer ticket confirmation number. You will find this number on an email you received from Eventbrite after registering for the conference. The email was titled “Order Confirmation for BlogHer ‘10.”

Not so sure

We go not knowing for certain that that is enough; if our presence is useful or desired. We go without deliverables or action items. We simply go and set a place at the table with an open invitation.
